Location: College Station, TX

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, start times vary (6:45 AM/PM for day/night, mid-shifts at 9, 11, 1, 3), every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and pediatric cases
Perform advanced dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG monitoring, with no monitor techs — RNs read their own strips
Administer common emergency drips such as pressors and sedation
Collaborate with in-house physicians, midlevels, and a supportive team including RT and phlebotomy
Manage ventilator patients and troubleshoot respiratory equipment
Participate in triage and fast-track areas, ensuring efficient patient flow

Qualifications

At least 2 years of emergency nursing experience
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) before contract start
First-time travelers welcome
Experience with ventilator management and common ER drips

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency nursing and trauma care
EKG and dysrhythmia interpretation
Ventilator management
Pediatric emergency care
Ability to work in a fast-paced Level III Trauma Center with STEMI and Stroke Receiving status
