Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain a clean, safe environment
• Take and develop dental X-rays with precision and care
• Provide reassurance and comfort to young patients, helping them feel at ease
• Educate patients and parents on proper oral hygiene practices
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with administrative tasks

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or willingness to obtain certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Experience working with children in a dental setting is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited dental assistant program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques
• Proficiency in taking dental X-rays (bitewing, panoramic)
• Strong understanding of OSHA and HIPAA regulations
• Computer proficiency with dental practice management software
• Compassion and patience when working with pediatric patients
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
