Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor vital signs and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect patients and yourself
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly with the care team
- Create a welcoming environment by responding to resident needs and requests
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to ensure safety
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in good standing (required)
- Active or eligible for CNA listing/registration in Pennsylvania
- Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred or willing to obtain
- Minimum clinical experience caring for adults in long-term care or acute settings preferred
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care and personal assistance skills
- Vital signs monitoring and basic clinical observations
- Safe patient handling and infection prevention techniques
- Charting and basic electronic health record familiarity
- Effective communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
