Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Support nursing staff by taking vital signs, observing changes, and reporting concerns
Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote resident independence
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident condition
Help create a comfortable, dignified environment and build rapport with residents
Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

Current CNA certification valid in Connecticut
Comfortable providing hands-on patient care with empathy and respect
Good communication skills and the ability to work well on a care team
Willingness to complete facility-required screenings and orientation
Previous long-term care experience is a plus but not always required
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
Ability to follow care plans and document observations
Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
Awareness of infection control and patient safety practices
