Roles & Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans to help patients regain independence in daily activities
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists to modify interventions based on patient progress
  • Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques and home exercise programs
  • Document patient progress accurately and timely in the EMR system
  • Contribute to a positive, healing environment in a skilled nursing facility

Qualifications

  • Active COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) license in California
  • At least 1 year of recent experience as a COTA in a skilled nursing or rehab setting
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • Must be willing to float to other units as needed

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a interdisciplinary team
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and documentation
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
