Shift Type: Rotating 10-hour shifts (4x10); varied start/end times and days (assignment-dependent), rotating schedule

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment needed during surgical procedures with precision
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields and ensure proper instrument counts before, during, and after cases
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs by understanding the procedure and thinking ahead
- Set up and test surgical equipment and supplies to ensure procedures run smoothly
- Communicate clearly with the surgical team to promote safe, efficient patient care
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and safety protocols in the OR
Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required)
- Previous operating room experience and comfort handling surgical instruments
- Travel assignment experience — please note, first-time travelers should not apply
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in fast-paced OR environments
- Certification (CST) and current local/lifetime certifications encouraged or preferred
Education
- Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program
Knowledge & Skills
- Instrument handling and proper passing techniques
- Understanding common surgical procedures and instruments used
- Anticipating surgeon needs and preparing ahead for each case
- Sterile technique, instrument counts, and infection control practices
- Equipment setup, basic troubleshooting, and supplies management
- Professional communication and teamwork in the perioperative setting
