Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, compassionate personal care to geriatric residents
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns
• Support mealtime needs and ensure dietary requirements are followed
• Document care delivered accurately and communicate with the care team
• Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes dignity and independence

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• Current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required by facility
• Ability to pass required background check and drug screen
• Comfort working with older adults and those with mobility or cognitive needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification or state-approved geriatric nursing assistant credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skill in safe patient handling and transfers
• Basic documentation and charting skills
• Ability to follow care plans and physician/nurse instructions
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong observation skills
