Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for post‑operative cardiac patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes using advanced cardiac monitoring skills
• Manage chest tubes, pericardial pacing wires, and temporary pacers with precision
• Provide respiratory support, including non‑invasive ventilation and high‑flow oxygen therapy
• Educate and mentor LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries to ensure seamless team performance
• Float to all units within skill level as needed to maintain unit coverage

Qualifications

• 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in critical care or cardiac surgery
• Post‑operative open heart care experience
• Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license (Nursys verified)
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, chest tube management, and vascular access care

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Chest tube and drain management
• Vascular access care (radial and femoral)
• Use and troubleshooting of non‑invasive ventilation devices
• High‑flow oxygen delivery systems
• Critical care principles and pulmonary abnormalities
