Location: Omaha, Nebraska

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM; 6-week scheduling; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (Fridays and Saturdays for night shift); holiday rotation with permanent staff

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on the PCU, including cardiac, stroke, and mixed medical-surgical cases
Titrate drips such as Heparin, octreotide, and insulin as needed
Read and interpret telemetry monitoring for patients
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, patient care techs, and unit secretaries
Manage frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges in a high-flow unit
Float to Med/Surg and other areas as needed, including ICU/ED for appropriate patient care

Qualifications

Active RN license (compact or state-specific)
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of PCU or related experience preferred
Driver's license required at submittal for radius rule verification
Willingness to comply with artificial nail policy (no artificial nails in patient care areas)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong cardiac and stroke patient assessment skills
Proficiency in titrating IV drips and monitoring telemetry
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Team-oriented with positive attitude and flexibility
Effective communication and collaboration skills
