Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pediatric Med/Surg patients with attention to safety and comfort
• Assess patients continuously, track changes, and communicate findings to the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following facility protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and family members to create and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and home care to support successful recoveries
• Document patient care clearly and promptly in the medical record to ensure continuity and accountability

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — California licensure preferred
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing and pediatric patient care (prior Med/Surg or Peds experience highly valued)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, delegation, and time-management skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team and support family-centered care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of pediatric Med/Surg principles, medication administration, and age-appropriate care
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Infection control practices and patient safety standards
• Strong communication skills with patients, families, and clinical teams
• Critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
