Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive, evidence-based assessments and synthesize clinical data to identify patient needs
• Develop and document individualized plans of care and expected outcomes in partnership with patients and families
• Implement timely nursing interventions and document any changes or modifications to the plan of care
• Provide patient and family education that supports healthy lifestyles and safe postpartum/newborn care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and ensure continuity across units
• Supervise, delegate and support subordinate staff to maintain safe, high-quality patient care
• Participate in quality improvement activities and use data to drive safer, more effective nursing practice
• Float to Mother/Baby as needed and accept couplets while serving as a safety companion on other units

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Montana or eligible Compact License
• NRP certification required
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience (PACU experience acceptable)
• Comfortable floating to Mother/Baby, taking couplets, and supporting other units as safety companion
• Strong documentation skills and ability to supervise and delegate appropriately
• Commitment to culturally sensitive, patient-centered care and lifelong learning

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required (Montana or Compact). Degree level not specified.
