Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients consistent with unit standards and protocols
• Perform timely assessments and document findings clearly in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Respond effectively to emergencies and escalate concerns to the clinical lead or physician as appropriate
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions
• Maintain required competencies through Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and skills checklists
• Participate in handoffs and patient/family education to promote safe transitions of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (ability to verify license/certification)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications (listed on order as required)
• Ability to pass Trinity license/certificate verification and specialty competency testing
• Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (drug screen, fit test, COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, influenza, PPD/IGRA, varicella, Tdap)
• Professional attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-first mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of acute care nursing best practices and protocols
• Familiarity with trauma and stroke care principles (NIHSS experience helpful)
• Skilled in patient assessment, critical thinking, and timely documentation
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and following unit-specific checklists
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize patient safety
