Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, hands-on therapeutic care under the direction of the physical therapist
• Assist with evaluation implementation and follow treatment plans to help patients regain mobility
• Carry out therapeutic exercises, modalities, and patient education with compassion and clarity
• Document patient progress accurately and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Collaborate with PTs, nurses, and rehab staff to develop practical, patient-centered goals
• Help maintain a safe environment by following infection control, safety protocols, and proper equipment use

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in New Jersey (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Prior experience in geriatrics, inpatient rehab, or post-acute care is a plus
• Current immunizations and ability to pass required background and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on proficiency with therapeutic exercises, transfers, and gait training
• Knowledge of rehab documentation best practices and progress note standards
• Comfortable using rehabilitation equipment and assistive devices
• Ability to educate patients and families in clear, patient-friendly language
• Good time management, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
