Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Start Date: 06-16-2026
End Date: 09-15-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (occasionally 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM one day per week); one weekend every third weekend (Monday and Friday off those weekends)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide top-notch physical therapy to acute inpatients with diverse diagnoses
- Cover Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER units as needed
- Manage a caseload of approximately 12 patients per day
- Collaborate with a dedicated rehab team and rehab aides
- Participate in general hospital orientation and department-specific training
Qualifications
- Active California Physical Therapy license (or in progress)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Prior acute inpatient PT experience is required
- Ability to cover multiple units including Med/Surg, ICU, and ER
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in treating general medical, deconditioned, TKA/THA, spinal surgery, and orthopedic patients
- Skilled in acute inpatient rehabilitation settings
- Proficient in patient evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care environment
