Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient

Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 06-16-2026

End Date: 09-15-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional one day per week 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; one weekend every third weekend (Monday and Friday off)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments for acute inpatient populations, including orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes across Med/Surg, ICU, and ER units
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with conditions such as TKA, THA, spinal surgery, CVA, and general deconditioning
Document patient progress and adjust interventions as needed to achieve functional goals
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies

Qualifications

Acute Inpatient Physical Therapy experience is required
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Active California Physical Therapist license
Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 12 patients per day

Strong communication and teamwork skills
