Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams and procedures to ensure smooth patient care
• Prepare patients for treatment by reviewing medical history and explaining procedures
• Sterilize and organize instruments to maintain a safe and clean environment
• Take and process dental X-rays to aid in diagnosis
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic appliance care
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with scheduling

Qualifications

• Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA) or willingness to obtain certification
• Radiology certification (X-ray license) is required
• Experience in an orthodontic or dental setting is preferred
• Strong communication skills and a caring attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and chairside assisting techniques
• Proficiency in sterilization and infection control protocols
• Familiarity with dental software and record-keeping
• Excellent interpersonal skills to make patients feel at ease
