Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care including cleanings, scaling, and patient education
- Assess patients' oral health and report findings to the dentist
- Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
- Maintain patient records and treatment plans
- Sterilize instruments and ensure a clean, safe clinical environment
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
- Current CPR certification (BLS)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education
- Associate degree in Dental Hygiene (or equivalent)
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in dental hygiene procedures and instrumentation
- Knowledge of infection control protocols
- Familiarity with dental software and digital radiography
- Strong patient education and counseling skills
