Roles & Responsibilities
- Circulate confidently for C-sections and assist with high-risk deliveries
- Manage labor and delivery for complex cases including preterm labor and pre-eclampsia
- Administer critical medications like magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives and insulin drips
- Monitor fetal heart rates and provide expert antepartum care
- Support vaginal deliveries, D&Cs, cerclages and special procedures in a high-risk unit
Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS, ACLS, NRP and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required
- AWHONN Advanced and NCC EFM certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience in large hospital settings
- Seasoned travel experience, no first-time travelers
Education
- RN licensure required
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in high-risk antepartum and labor & delivery management
- Proficient in external fetal monitoring and recognizing abnormal patterns
- Skilled in circulating for C-sections and assisting vaginal deliveries
- Knowledge of special procedures like cerclage, D&C and version
