Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis for patients
• Assess oral health and document findings in patient records
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Take and develop dental radiographs as needed
• Collaborate with dentists and support staff to ensure seamless patient flow

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Dental Hygienist license (or ability to obtain quickly)
• Dental hygiene degree from an accredited program
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to infection control standards

Knowledge & Skills

• Oral health assessment and charting
• Prophylaxis and scaling techniques
• Fluoride application and sealant placement
• Dental radiography operation
• Patient education on oral hygiene
