Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal therapy to promote oral health
• Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and nutritional habits
• Assist the dentist during procedures by taking X-rays and maintaining a sterile environment
• Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records
• Provide a welcoming and comfortable experience for every patient

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia (or compact state) required
• Current CPR certification
• Previous experience in a dental practice preferred but new grads welcome
• Excellent communication and patient care skills

Education

• Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in dental hygiene procedures including scaling, root planing, and polishing
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols
• Ability to use dental software and digital X-ray systems
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
