Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional dental hygiene care including cleanings, exams, and patient education
- Assess patients' oral health and document findings accurately
- Remove plaque, calculus, and stains from teeth using hand and ultrasonic instruments
- Apply fluoride treatments and sealants as needed
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist license in New York State
- Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in dental hygiene procedures and instrument sterilization
- Familiarity with dental software and electronic health records
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Patient-focused with a gentle and friendly chairside manner
- Knowledge of infection control and OSHA standards
