Roles & Responsibilities
Room patients efficiently and compassionately, collecting vitals and recording accurate histories
Perform specimen collection and label specimens following clinic protocols
Administer injections and immunizations safely using aseptic technique
Obtain 12-lead EKGs and document results accurately in Epic
Support providers by preparing exam rooms and charts so visits run smoothly
Handle telephone triage and pharmacy refill requests with professionalism and clear communication
Assist with minor procedures (e.g., pap smears, biopsies, nebulizer treatments) and maintain sterile procedure trays
Follow up on phone calls and patient outreach to keep care coordinated and timely
Qualifications
At least 6 months experience working as a Medical Assistant, with adult outpatient experience REQUIRED
Epic charting experience is required — you’ll be charting in EPIC daily
BLS certification required (active)
WA MA-C license preferred; MA-R considered if necessary (pending license accepted)
CMA/RMA credentials are a plus but not mandatory — first-timers welcome
Reliable personal transportation is required (public transit not acceptable per facility)
Willingness to convert to permanent hire at the end of the contract if mutually a good fit
Education
High school diploma or GED required
Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA or RMA) — MA-C preferred for Washington
Knowledge & Skills
Proficient in Epic charting and electronic documentation
Strong skills in rooming patients and obtaining accurate vital signs
Competent with injections, immunizations, and intramuscular/intradermal techniques
Experience collecting and labeling specimens (UA/clean catch and other lab tests)
Ability to perform 12-lead EKGs and basic hearing/vision screenings
Telephone triage, pharmacy refill processing, and patient follow-up
Aseptic technique and assisting with minor procedures
Comfortable with adult (and preferred pediatric) outpatient settings
