Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI exams and procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Operate and optimize the magnetic resonance scanner, adjusting parameters for best images
  • Assist radiologists and medical staff during exams to ensure patient safety and accuracy
  • Document all exam information thoroughly for interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval
  • Retrieve prior studies and related health information to support timely performance and reporting
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on scanner equipment and archive imaging data
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and complete required education per accreditation standards

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CAHEA accredited Radiology program or equivalent
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required
  • Certified MRI Technician certification required
  • American Heart Association BLS required
  • Previous MRI experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a busy, sometimes stressful environment with sound judgment
  • Candidates must live more than 90 miles from the facility (do not submit candidates living less than 90 miles)

Education

  • Graduate of CAHEA accredited Radiology program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy
  • Patient care skills with tact, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with MS Office, EMR systems and standard computer/internet applications
  • Problem solving, attention to detail, and the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams
