Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Stabilize patients using advanced emergency nursing skills and evidence-based protocols
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and life-saving interventions safely and efficiently
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly in the EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Provide patient and family education to support understanding of diagnoses and follow-up care
• Escalate critical changes in patient condition to providers and participate in rapid response when needed
• Help maintain unit flow and patient throughput during high-acuity periods

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department with flexible assignment needs
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Nursing fundamentals and triage processes
• Proficient patient assessment and clinical decision making
• Experience with EMR systems (MEDITECH knowledge a plus)
• Familiarity with ACLS/BLS/PALS protocols and emergency procedures
• Comfort working in multidisciplinary teams and adapting to changing census and acuity
• Ability to manage a typical ED patient ratio (approx. 4:1) while maintaining safe care
