Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care across MedSurg, PCU and Telemetry units
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and respond to dysrhythmias promptly
• Administer and titrate IV drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin) following protocols
• Perform focused assessments, vital sign monitoring, medication administration and documentation
• Care for post-procedural and cardiac surgery patients, including groin site care for cath lab patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, communicate changes in patient status and escalate concerns appropriately
• Support patient safety by following hospital policies, participating in orientation and unit-specific training, and using monitor tech resources

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Arizona (or compact/eligible) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years total RN experience preferred with at least 1 year in a PCU/stepdown or telemetry setting
• Comfortable interpreting telemetry and able to pass a dysrhythmia exam (80% required within two attempts)
• Experience titrating common drips and managing post-cardiac/procedural patients
• Familiarity with CPAP/BiPAP and heated high-flow therapy; comfort working with monitor techs
• Must meet radius/employment restrictions: not employed full-time/part-time/PRN with CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facilities within the past year and within the 50-mile radius rule

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Proficient with titratable vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Experience with post-op cardiac and cath lab patient care
• Skilled in vital sign monitoring, medication management and patient assessment
• Familiarity with CPAP/BiPAP and heated high-flow oxygen delivery
• Comfort using Cerner or similar electronic health record systems
• Excellent communication, critical thinking and teamwork in a fast-paced float-pool environment
