Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons as a scrub or assist during a variety of procedures including Cesarean Sections, Orthopedic, General, and Vascular surgeries
• Maintain sterile fields and apply aseptic techniques to ensure optimal patient safety
• Prepare and handle surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies with precision and care
• Perform sharps, sponge, and instrument counts to support a safe surgical environment
• Anticipate surgeon needs to help procedures run smoothly and reduce patient stress
• Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver compassionate, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active Surgical Technologist certification required
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 2 years operating room experience preferred
• Background in Cesarean Sections, Orthopedic, General, and Vascular surgery preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent plus completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or military training

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and sterilization methods
• Excellent dexterity and ability to handle equipment with care
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and respond to emergencies efficiently
• Great communication and teamwork skills with physicians and colleagues
