Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up sterile instrumentation and supplies for surgical procedures with care and precision
• Assist surgeons and the operating room team during procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments efficiently
• Maintain and monitor sterile field integrity throughout cases to ensure patient safety
• Perform decontamination, cleaning, and proper handling of surgical instruments after procedures
• Collaborate closely with nurses, surgeons, and perioperative staff to support smooth case flow
• Participate in orientation activities and training to integrate quickly into the facility team

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training
• Surgical technologist certification (CST) preferred; state certification if applicable
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred
• Prior operating room or surgical tech experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail, infection control knowledge, and ability to follow sterile technique
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and orientation requirements

Education

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent
• High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile processing
• Familiarity with common surgical instruments and equipment
• Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and work efficiently under pressure
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in the OR setting
• Comfort with basic electronic documentation and case tracking
• Commitment to patient safety and infection control best practices
