Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing needs
• Develop individualized treatment plans to improve communication and safety
• Provide evidence-based therapy across the continuum of care
• Document progress and outcomes clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with nursing, PT/OT, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families to support carryover and functional goals

Qualifications

• Active Texas SLP license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or equivalent clinical certification
• Experience providing skilled speech therapy in a post-acute or long-term care setting preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and treatment planning skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to commit to the 13-week contract assignment

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (typical requirement for SLP roles)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of standardized and functional assessment tools
• Skilled in dysphagia evaluation and management techniques
• Proficiency in creating measurable, meaningful treatment goals
• Comfortable with electronic medical record documentation
• Ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary care planning
