Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough speech and language evaluations to build individualized care plans
• Deliver evidence-based treatment for communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, therapists, and families to support holistic patient goals
• Document progress clearly and timely to ensure continuity of care and measurable outcomes
• Provide training and consultation to caregivers and staff to extend therapy gains beyond sessions
• Participate in team meetings and discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and follow-up

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• Active SLP license in Maine or ability to obtain state licensure prior to the assignment
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
• Clinical experience working with adult and/or pediatric populations (rehab experience a plus)
• Strong documentation and time management skills in fast-paced settings
• Professional, patient-centered approach with excellent communication skills

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in standardized and functional assessment tools for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
• Skilled in designing individualized treatment plans and measuring outcomes
• Experience with dysphagia management and safe swallowing strategies
• Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and educating caregivers
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and timely documentation
• Adaptable clinical reasoning to manage varied caseloads in a contracted setting
