RN (Registered Nurse) - PCU/Oncology/MedSurg

Location: Omaha, NE

Start Date: 08-03-2026

End Date: 11-02-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to oncology and trauma PCU/MedSurg patients
Administer chemotherapy and manage common drips like heparin and cardizem
Monitor and titrate medications as needed, including insulin drips
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, and social workers
Perform hourly rounding to ensure patient safety and satisfaction
Float to MedSurg and PCU units as needed, maintaining the same level of care

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Minimum 1 year of experience in PCU, MedSurg, or oncology
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Must pass an open-book exam on skills learned during orientation with a 90% or higher
Driver's license required for submission to verify distance from facility

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in EPIC electronic medical records
Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000)
Knowledge of chemotherapy administration and ONS/ONCC certification
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to care for diverse patient populations with cultural sensitivity
