Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and bedside monitors to keep patients safe and informed
• Administer and titrate drips per protocol, including heparin and common cardiac medications
• Perform timely EKG interpretation and act decisively on cardiac changes
• Provide compassionate, hands-on care for cardiac, respiratory, infectious, and med-surg patients
• Collaborate closely with respiratory therapists, monitor techs, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate excellent care
• Float to support different units as needed and complete unit-specific orientation and competencies
• Deliver team-focused, patient-centered care that makes a measurable difference every shift

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification and strong EKG interpretation skills required
• Telemetry experience preferred; 2 years CCU or high-end stepdown experience required for select roles
• Comfortable titrating drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, and heparin
• Able and willing to float per unit guidelines and work 12-hour shifts
• Eligible for travel nurse assignments; first-time travelers welcome

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and familiarity with GE TelePack
• EKG strip interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Cardiac-focused care including CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias, and post-MI management
• Experience with titratable and non-titratable drips
• Basic ventilator awareness and bedside ventilator experience on select units
• Strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and excellent customer service
• Ability to work effectively with monitor techs and interdisciplinary teams
• Adaptability to different unit cultures and fast-paced environments
