Location: Omaha, Nebraska

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour rotations, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to oncology and trauma PCU patients, administering chemotherapy and monitoring for side effects
Titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem and manage heparin protocols as needed
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including PT/OT, social workers, and dietitians to optimize patient outcomes
Float to med/surg and PCU units as required, maintaining high standards of care
Participate in hourly rounding and patient experience initiatives to ensure a positive healing environment
Document diligently in EPIC and follow all facility policies, including artificial nail prohibitions

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, med/surg, or oncology nursing experience
Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state (NLC)
Willing to obtain or have current driver's license to verify 50-mile radius compliance
First-time travelers are welcome
Must pass pass/fail exam during orientation with a 90% or higher

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in EPIC electronic medical records
Experience with chemotherapy administration and ONS/ONCC certification preferred
Ability to manage ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000) - training provided
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, mixed-unit environment
