Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to neuro stepdown patients, including post-stroke and neuro interventional cases
• Monitor patient vitals and telemetry with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in stepdown and 1:5-6 in telemetry
• Perform EKGs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes
• Float to similar units as needed to support continuity of care across the organization
• Deliver excellent, caring service to a diverse patient population in a 30-bed Neuro Stroke Unit

Qualifications

• Current RN license (Nursys verification required)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• EPIC experience preferred
• Ability to perform EKGs
• Previous neuro stepdown or ICU experience preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of neuro stepdown nursing and telemetry monitoring
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Compassionate patient-centered care approach
• Flexibility to float and adapt to different unit needs
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EPIC preferred)
