Weekend coverage: Days on Sat/Sun; Nights coverage patterns include Fri/Sat for weekend staffing. Self-scheduling by seniority, shift trades available. Day shift (12-hour)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for IMCU/cardiac telemetry patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and act promptly on dysrhythmias
• Perform bedside shift report and communicate effectively to support patient experience
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to follow protocol-driven drip management
• Support core measures and HCAHPS goals through attentive, patient-centered care
• Float to Med/Surg or 4West when needed while maintaining standards of care
• Participate in unit orientation and proctored dysrhythmia testing to demonstrate competency

Qualifications

• Active RN license, eligible to work in California
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (per employer policy)
• Telemetry experience with strong dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• 2-3 years of specialty experience in telemetry/IMCU/Cardiac/IMCU recommended; open to first-time travelers
• Comfortable using Cerner EMR and working with GE Apex telemetry monitoring systems
• Ability to pass a proctored on-site dysrhythmia test (pass/fail) on day one

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Management of common IMCU diagnoses: CHF, COPD, respiratory failure, renal failure, alcohol withdrawal, post-PCI care
• Familiarity with protocol-driven drips such as heparin gtt, amiodarone gtt, cardizem gtt, and DKA protocols
• Experience with HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP support (no vents required on unit)
• Strong bedside shift reporting, patient experience focus, and teamwork
• Proficiency charting in Cerner and communicating with central telemetry monitor techs
