Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a fast-paced PCU
• Monitor and manage cardiac, neurological, and medical conditions including strokes, diabetes, and renal issues
• Titrate and monitor intravenous drips such as Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications
• Collaborate with charge nurses and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed to support hospital operations
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with patients and families

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska (compact license accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Driver's license required for verification of residency outside 50 miles
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and critical thinking ability
• Willingness to adhere to facility policies including artificial nail prohibition

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in managing cardiac drips and seizure medications
• Knowledge of PCU patient ratios (1:4-5) and charge nurse responsibilities
• Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and problem-solve effectively
• Experience with continuous EEG monitoring and stroke care
