Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate postoperative care for pediatric patients in the PACU
Monitor vital signs and assess recovery status to ensure safe transitions
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols
Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical teams, and patient families for seamless care
Document patient status and interventions accurately and promptly
Educate families on postoperative care, discharge instructions, and follow-up

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Missouri) or eligibility to obtain one
Experience or strong interest in PACU and pediatric nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) encouraged
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Comfort working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary perioperative team

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric postoperative assessment and monitoring
Pain assessment and safe medication administration for kids
Familiarity with PACU workflows, handoffs, and discharge criteria
Skilled in patient/family education and compassionate communication
Ability to respond to emergencies and escalate appropriately
