End Date: 11-30-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Days, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts; weekends as scheduled (3 weekend shifts per 4-week period)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional nursing care to a diverse Observation unit patient population, including cardiac, postsurgical, and trauma observation patients
  • Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms, titrating drips like Diltiazem, Heparin, and Amiodarone as needed
  • Collaborate with a dedicated healthcare team including PCTs, charge nurses, and respiratory therapists
  • Maintain strict sterile field during central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertions
  • Float to nearby campuses as needed (Westgate or Laveen) with advance notice
  • Participate in pass/fail SIMs lab assessments to confirm competency in key skills

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in Arizona or compact state (willing to obtain AZ license)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent MedSurg, Observation, or Telemetry experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • Must pass dysrhythmia exam with 80% or higher within 2 attempts
  • Strong time management and ability to adapt in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficient in Cerner EMR
  • Skilled in telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
  • Comfortable with central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion under sterile technique
  • Experience titrating IV drips (Diltiazem, Heparin, Amiodarone)
  • Knowledge of Observation unit common diagnoses (CP, syncope, chole, hand surgeries, etc.)
