Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients using evidence-based practice
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and intervene promptly for changes in patient status
• Manage an assignment with typical ratios of 1:5-6 while prioritizing patient safety and outcomes
• Document accurately and efficiently in Epic to maintain continuity of care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team for coordinated care plans
• Educate patients and families on treatments, medications, and discharge planning to promote recovery
• Float within like units as needed to meet facility staffing needs while maintaining standards of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (Pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH stroke certification required
• Experience charting in Epic is strongly preferred
• Comfort with night shift schedules and every other weekend coverage
• Ability to float between similar units and adapt to changing patient needs

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
• Medical-surgical patient management and assessment
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking under pressure
• Proficient documentation and charting in Epic
• Effective communication and teamwork across disciplines
• Time management skills for 12-hour night shifts
