Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients using evidence-based practices
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely, documenting per facility policy
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other clinicians to coordinate seamless patient care
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to promote recovery
• Contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate electronic charting

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-based licensure required; NH licensure expected for Woodsville, NH assignment)
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing (Med/Surg) preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS as applicable or preferred by facility
• Strong assessments, medication administration, and IV/line care skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Reliable professional references and ability to pass required background checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of med-surg patient care, common diagnoses, and post-operative management
• Proficient in medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
• Skilled with electronic medical records (EMR) documentation and charting
• Excellent clinical judgment, prioritization, and time management
• Clear clinical communication and patient/family education abilities
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and support colleagues during high-acuity situations
