Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
- Assess patients thoroughly and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document appropriately
- Monitor patient status and intervene promptly for changes in condition
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Provide clear education and support to patients and families
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient record
- Participate in unit quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New Hampshire or eligible for state licensure
- Experience or training in medical/surgical nursing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications a plus
- Comfortable working 12.5-hour clinical shifts
- Strong communication, clinical judgment and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid patient assessment and clinical monitoring skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy competency
- Familiarity with Med/Surg patient care needs including post-operative care
- Good documentation practices and use of electronic health records
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and respond to urgent situations
- Collaborative approach to working with nurses, physicians and support staff
