Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Perform thorough assessments and develop action plans to support positive outcomes
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and discharge planning
• Document care clearly and promptly in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Support unit goals by contributing to quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure (Hawaii) or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Hands-on medical-surgical nursing experience and comfort with a fast-paced unit
• Valid BLS certification; ACLS or other advanced certifications preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, assessment skills, and ability to prioritize care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with patients and staff

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring in a med-surg setting
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize safely
• Basic wound care, post-op care, and post-procedure monitoring
• Strong interpersonal skills and patient/family education techniques
