Shift Type: Night shift, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts. Weekend and holiday rotation as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients in a 42-bed unit
• Manage patient assessments, medications, and treatments with a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and respiratory therapists for comprehensive care
• Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Educate patients and families on discharge plans and health management
• Float to PCU or Burn units as needed to support the team

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska (or compact license eligible)
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg experience
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required for verification of residency
• Ability to pass an open-book exam during orientation with a 90% or higher

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and practices
• Skill in telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability to floating and varying patient assignments
