Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care: triage, assess, intervene and prioritize for patients of all ages
• Deliver ACLS/PALS-driven interventions during critical events and code responses
• Use clinical judgment and critical thinking to stabilize, treat and escalate care as needed
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Meditech so the whole care team stays informed
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient flow
• Support unit efficiency by assisting with admissions, discharges and transfers during busy periods
• Participate in unit-level policies, attendance expectations and staffing flexibility, including float-as-needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license (active only; temporary licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years of RN experience with 2+ years specialty experience in Emergency Nursing
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications required
• NIH certification required
• Meditech experience preferred
• Ability to work nights, rotating schedules and alternating weekends
• Clean attendance record and readiness to follow unit guidelines and policies

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and rapid triage
• Cardiac monitoring, ACLS protocols and acute resuscitation skills
• Pediatric emergency care and PALS applications
• Trauma assessment and TNCC principles
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic documentation
• NIH stroke scale assessment
• Strong communication, teamwork and patient/family education skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize in a fast-paced ER
