Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency and trauma nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Perform triage, assessment, and interventions for acute and critical patients
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, Level 1 trauma center
• Maintain sterile field during procedures like port-a-cath insertion and Foley catheter insertion
• Monitor telemetry strips and respond to changes in patient status
• Float between multiple facilities within the system as needed

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience
• Minimum 6 months of Level 1 trauma experience required
• Active RN license (willing to wait for license submission)
• Willingness to pass a DYS exam and SIMs lab skills
• Comfortable floating between St. Joseph's locations (Main, Westgate, and free-standing ERs)
• Must have own vehicle for travel between sites
• No facial piercings and natural hair color required; men must be clean-shaven for fit test

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Cerner electronic medical record system
• Skilled in reading and interpreting Phillips telemetry monitors
• Knowledge of vent management (managed by RT) and trauma protocols
• Experience with IV insertion, wound care, and patient restraint procedures
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
