Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including adults and pediatrics
• Triage patients, manage life-threatening conditions, and stabilize critically ill patients
• Perform rapid assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-levels, and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes
• Manage ER holds and participate in procedural sedation as needed
• Float between Adult ER and Peds ER based on patient volume and staffing needs

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required
• No first-time travelers - must have prior travel experience
• Active California RN license or compact license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with both adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Triage experience is a must

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Cerner EMR system
• Strong EKG interpretation skills (basic and advanced for critical care)
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients including STEMI, CVA, and burn victims
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with approximately 325 patient visits per day
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
