Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day/Night), 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM / 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide intermediate care for cardiac patients, including those recovering from CVICU
Monitor and titrate critical drips such as Amio, Nitro, Nicardipine, and other medications for blood pressure management
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support thoracic surgery, EP, cath lab, and structural heart programs
Interpret telemetry strips and respond to changes in patient conditions
Float to same level and lower acuity units as needed
Perform comprehensive assessments and document patient progress

Qualifications

At least 1 year of recent experience with CVU or intermediate care cardiac patients
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA preferred)
Valid driver's license required for radius verification
Ability to pass a comprehensive open-book exam during orientation with a 90% or higher
Must not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Experience titrating cardiac medications including Amio, Nitro, Nicardipine, Epi, and Cardizem
Knowledge of cardiac diagnoses such as CHF, A fib, CVA, and RVR
Strong critical thinking and assessment skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly
