Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with right and left heart catheterizations, both diagnostic and interventional, delivering safe, high-quality patient care
• Support peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures with attention to detail and patient comfort
• Manage advanced devices and therapies such as Impella, balloon pump and Penumbra during procedures
• Utilize IVUS and other imaging tools to support procedural success and optimal outcomes
• Document procedures and patient care accurately using Merge Hemo documentation
• Respond quickly and professionally to STEMI call events, including potential coverage at sister sites
• Provide pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure recovery care with patient education and advocacy
• Collaborate with the cath lab team to maintain efficient lab flow and a positive patient experience

Qualifications

• Current RCIS certification required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Active RN qualification (travel RN experience preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required
• Experience with EP cases is a strong plus
• Familiarity with Impella, balloon pump, Penumbra, and IVUS preferred
• Comfort with STEMI call coverage and occasional coverage at nearby sister hospital

Education

• Nursing degree required (ADN or BSN); active RN credentials expected

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures (right and left heart)
• Experience with peripheral diagnostic and interventional techniques
• Proficiency with Merge Hemo documentation system
• Skill using and troubleshooting cath lab equipment including GE labs
• Ability to support advanced devices: Impella, balloon pump, Penumbra
• Good clinical judgment in emergent STEMI situations
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills in a fast-paced procedural environment
