Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, California
Start Date: 06-16-2026
End Date: 09-15-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Mostly 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off those weekends
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate physical therapy to acute inpatients with diverse diagnoses
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for conditions like TKA, THA, spinal surgeries, and CVA
- Cover Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER units as needed
- Accurately document patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid California PT license
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience in acute inpatient physical therapy is essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical skills in orthopedics, neurology, and medical deconditioning
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Proficiency in electronic medical records
- Time management and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
