Education
- === JOB DESCRIPTION ===
- Performs a variety of routine and specialized MRI procedures for inpatients, outpatients and emergency department patients of all ages. Performs assigned supervisory functions. Maintains the standards of ARRT.
- Demonstrates courteous behavior through polite and respectful communication to all customers and adheres to the 7 customer service behaviors
- Verifies physician orders for instructions from requesting physician and consults with the radiologists as necessary. Preps patient for exam. Explains procedure and provides education and instruction to patient as appropriate.
- Adheres to MRI safety standards
- Performs all magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies and administration of contrast media utilizing age related technical and positioning protocols and safety procedures according to department policy and procedure.
- Assists radiologist with MR procedures as requested.
- Evaluates MRI images for technical quality
- Operates and maintains MRI and associated equipment and supplies. Performs equipment warm up, calibration and safety check.
- Operates hospital computer system. Reports to supervisor any equipment malfunctions.
- Operates equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines for appropriate quality control.
