- Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- · Responsible for the daily operation of the women’s health section of radiology.
- · Responsible for suggesting changes in procedures, policies, and quality improvement, as well as coordinating training and development in breast imaging specialties.
- · Adheres to all FDA guidelines for the mammography section.
- · Maintains appropriate records for all accreditation processes and inspections.
- · Maintains the structured reporting system to ensure accurate audit reporting, statistical tracking, and resolution of workflow issues.
- · Ensures completion of daily QA and preventative maintenance scheduling.
- · Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Mammography imaging procedures
- · Performs all exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols the exam with the Radiologist.
- · Practices radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.
- · Ability to operate equipment consistent with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
- · Troubleshoots equipment problems and independently calls a service engineer if the malfunction needs outside maintenance.
- · Verifies exam orders, identifies the patient through two means of identification, and provides exam education.
- · Reviews and documents the patient’s medical history, obtains required informed consent, and ensures all necessary paperwork and prior studies are complete and available before submitting procedures for Radiologist interpretation.
- · Maintains accurate patient records in EHR, including charging for procedures and supplies.
- · May be required to perform other functions within the clinic. Any additional training required will be provided.
- · Demonstrates flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
- · Obtains additional training or certification as required.
- · Assists with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.
- · Assists, trains, or cross-trains imaging staff members as directed.
- · Must be self-motivated, use independent judgment, and be able to work with minimum supervision.
- · Responsible for ordering, stocking, and maintaining supply inventory.

- QUALIFICATIONS
- · Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license).
- · Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- · Must successfully pass a background check.
- · Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
- · Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
- EDUCATION, LICENSURE(S), AND CERTIFICATION(S)
- Required
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire or transfer)
- EXPERIENCE
- Preferred
- Two (2) years prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist, CT, and MRI technologist.
- Cross-trained into other modalities, including, but not limited to: CT, MRI, and DEXA.
- Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS.
